2 Chinese cos to invest $28.69m in BSMSN

Two Chinese companies-China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and Jiuhong Medical- are going to invest $28.69 million in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar (BSMSN).

 In this regard, the two companies have taken lease of 18 acres of land from the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA).

A land lease agreement signing ceremony was held on Monday night between the BEZA and CCECC and Jiuhong Medical where Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Ahmad Kaikaus and BEZA Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury were present on the occasion.

BEZA Executive Member Md Abdul Mannan, CCECC Chairman Ke Changliang and Jiuhong Medical Plant Director Wang Jing signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides. BEZA source said that Chinese company CCECC will invest $15.97 million on 10 acres of land in the city to manufacture export-oriented steel structure and ready-mix concrete. It will generate about 350 jobs.
