The government has instructed all private schools to broadcast the draw of admission lottery live on Facebook or other social media platforms to avoid public gatherings.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) on Saturday issued a statement signed by its Deputy Director Enamul Haque Howlader in this regard.

It has been decided to select students through lottery for admission in private educational institutions from class I to class IX for 2021 academic year due to Covid-19 pandemic. The application fee has been set at Tk 150.

The school authorities will have to inform the admission supervision and monitoring committee about the dates for lotteries once they are finalised.

Usually, the admission to class one is done through lottery while examinations are held for admission from class two to nine every year.

But the government has ordered all schools to hold lotteries for enrolment in all the classes this year due to the pandemic.
