Fair Electronics, manufacturers of Samsung products in Bangladesh, has formally launched its Smart TV manufacturing plant in Narsingdi with an aim of producing around 3 lakh TV units annually.
National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem inaugurated the new plant and visited the factory of Fair Electronics on Saturday.
Samsung Electronics Bangladesh General Manager Bomin Kim, Fair Group Chairman Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub, and top officials of Fair Group were also present on the occasion.
Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Fair Group Mesbah Uddin told journalists that television plant started producing television since February of this year and now they formally inaugurated the plant.
Narrating their future market plan, he said the new plant has capacity of producing around 300,000 units of television annually.
“Price of television would be reduced by at least 20-30 percent in the local market. And being one of the lead brands, we are hoping to capture more market share in Bangladesh”, said Mesbah Uddin.
During the inauguration, Fair Group chairman said that new smart television plant in Bangladesh will help to the digitization of Bangladesh and will fetch foreign currency by exporting television from Bangladesh.
