Ansar to take on Police in final today

Ansar and VDP will take on Police Handball Club in the final match of the ongoing Walton first Women Federation Cup Handball Competition 2020 at Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the capital at 11:30 am today.

Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan is expected to distribute the prizes in the closing and prize giving ceremony as the chief guest while Walton Group Executive Director (Games and Sports) FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn and ATN Bangla Ltd adviser Tashik Ahmed will be the special guests there. The champions will be awarded Tk 15,000, the runners-up team Tk 10,000 and the third-placed team Tk 5,000.

Ansar maintained an unbeaten run and reached the final beating Naogaon District Sports Association (DSA) by 40-17 goals in the first semifinal. In the group matches, Ansar beat Faridpur DSA by 37-6 goals, Handball Training Center Dhaka by 46-11 goals and Police Handball club by 28-17 goals.

Another finalist, Police beat Jamalpur Sports Academy by 38-13 goals in the second semifinal. In the group matches, Police Handball club conceded a 17-28 goals defeat to Ansar, but beat Handball Training Center Dhaka by 48-7 and Faridpur DSA by 16-1 goals.

Earlier, Jamalpur SA clinched the third slot beating Naogaon DSA by 20-18 goals in the place-decider at the same venue on Thursday.
