BMDC registrar, 13 others sued

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed a case against 14 people including registrar of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) Registrar on charges of obtaining registration as MBBS doctor by using fake certificate.

ACC Deputy Director Salina Akhtar Moni filed the case with its integrated district office Dhaka-1 accusing the 14 people for the graft charges, said ACC Director (media) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.

The accused are BMDC registrar Md Jahidul Haque Bosunia, and its administrative official Mohammad Borhan Uddin and 12 fake MBBS degree holders ---Md Imon Ali, Sudeb Sen, Tanmay Ahmed, Mahmudul Hasan, Md Moktar Hossain, Md Asadullah, Md Kawsar, Rahmat Ali, Sheikh Atiar Rahman, Md Saiful Islam, Md Aslam Hossain, and Mohammad Masud Parvaj.

Of the accused, the two BMDC’s officials ---Md Jahidul Haque Bosunia, and Mohammad Borhan Uddin--- sued as they did not verify the MBBS certificates of the 12 students before allowing them to sit in Registration Qualifying Examination.
