Former Bangladesh Bank governor Prof Atiur Rahman said that the domestic market remains vibrant as the agriculture sector has been performing well.
“The pandemic-induced economic slowdown shows again that agriculture sector has been safeguarding for macro economy in the country,” he said while addressing a virtual meeting on Tuesday.Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) organised the meeting to share different initiative to overcome challenges amid coronavirus pandemic. Eminent media activist Shykh Seraj was also present in the meeting while MoYS State Minister Zahid Ahsan Russel chaired the meeting.
Dr Atiur further said the safe food can be delivered to the customers using digital platforms and if proper branding of the process is ensured then attaining success should not be too difficult. He also suggested for bring up the credit guarantee scheme undertaken by Bangladesh Bank to ensure finance for small and medium enterprises.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan said that his ministry is prioritizing development of young entrepreneurs with the aim to creating employment.
