20 hospitalised amid surge in dengue cases

The total number of dengue infections has neared 1,200 across the country in the current year until Tuesday as 21 new dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours.

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the total number of the dengue patients has risen to 1,193 this year while 547 patients have been hospitalised in November and 20 in current month December till yesterday morning.

The DGHS said the 20 patients have been admitted to different hospitals in the capital and none was hospitalised outside the capital on the same day.

Currently, 94 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals across the country.

Of them, 82 patients are receiving treatment in 41 government and private hospitals in the capital while 12 are taking treatment in hospitals outside the capital.
