2 foreign airlines involved in human trafficking: CID

Chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Barrister Mahbubur Rahman said on Tuesday that two foreign airlines were involved in human trafficking.

Without mentioning any names, he warned that the authorities of the airlines will be brought to book soon.

The CID chief revealed the information while talking to journalists at his office at Malibagh in the capital.

About the six fugitive Bangladeshi human traffickers against whom the Interpol issued a red alert, he said they have come to know that fugitive Tanzirul is staying in Italy.

On Monday, the CID media wing said as per the CID directive, the Interpol issued the red alert against the six for their alleged involvement in trafficking 38 Bangladeshi jobseekers to Libya and killing 26 of them there in May.

The six fugitive human traffickers are Shahdat Hossain of Dhaka, Nazrul Islam Molla of Madaripur and Minto Mia, Swapan, Iqbal Jafar and Tanzirul of Kishoreganj.

The CID chief further said that the fugitives will be hunted down and brought back to the country with the help of the Interpol.
