Infant found decapitated in Savar

The beheaded body of a newborn child was found in Savar of Dhaka on Sunday.

On receiving information, a team of Savar police recovered the body of the child aged around two or three days from an open space in Uttar Rajashan.

Tahmidul Hasan, sub-inspector of Savar Model Police Station, said: “We are trying to trace its parents and find the reason for the killing.”

The body, the officer said, was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.

Saizuddin Ahmed, a local resident, said that one of his tenants discovered the body beside his three-storey building in the morning. The body was inside a polythene bag, he said.

He informed police of the matter and the police recovered it, he said.

A case was filed at Savar Model Police Station.
