Banglalink has annou- nced the winners of Banglalink Ennovators 4.0, a digital ideation competition, launched for inspiring innovative youngsters to rethink, restart and recreate.
The announcement came through a virtual grand finale of the programme oragnised by Banglalink on Thursday.Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni addressed the event as the chief guest while group chief people officer Jelena Sutic, Veon, CEO Banglalink Erik Aas, chief human resources and administration officer Monzula Morshed also attended the event.
Around 16,000 youngsters applied for participation in the competition this year. Following a rigorous selection process, the selected candidates were given the opportunity to develop their skills through grooming, boot-camp sessions, workshops and many other activities conducted under the supervision of experienced mentors.
Prior to selection of winners, five teams presented their ideas and the jury board announced the top three teams after assessing their performances.
Team Decode clinched the first position by presenting their innovative idea on a skill development platform.
In addition, team White Collar Crew was announced as the first-runner up and Team Blink as the second runner-up for their ideas on gaming platforms.
All the top three teams will get a direct entry to the "Assessment Center of the Strategic Assistant Programme" of Banglalink along with attractive prizes.Moreover, the top five teams of the competition will qualify for Banglalink's "Advanced Internship Programme" and will participate in "Learn from Startups" and "Campus to Corporate", two other programmes run by Banglalink.
Speaking as the chief guest, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, said, "The greatest strength and asset of a nation lies in its youth. In order to fulfill our dream of building a Digital Bangladesh, we need to empower them digitally."
"For this reason, it is our responsibility to create platforms that enable them to grow and enhance their digital skills. We appreciate this exemplary initiative taken by Banglalink for giving these talented youngsters a precious growth opportunity,” she added.
Erik Aas said, "We are really proud to complete the fourth season of the program successfully and announce the winners of Banglalink Ennovators 4.0 programme."
If such innovative youngsters are given the right opportunities, they can unleash their true potentials and come up with innovative digital strategies to tackle many socio-economic challenges, he added.
