20 more dengue cases reported

The number of dengue-infected people is increasing day by day in the country as 20 new patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours until Thursday morning, raising the toll of infections from the mosquito-borne disease to 460 this month. 

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the number of dengue patients has reached 1,087 this year while 460 patients have been hospitalised this month. The DGHS said 18 patients have been admitted to different hospitals in the capital while two were hospitalised outside the capital.

Currently, 71 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals across the country.

Of them, 65 patients are being treated in 41 government and private hospitals in the capital while five are receiving treatment in hospitals outside the capital.

However, no new death from the disease was reported in the last 24 hours, the health directorate said.

However, the unofficial sources said the number of deaths from the dengue has stood around eight.
