The number of coronavirus infection and death cases has been increasing simultaneously in the country. The total number of death reached 6,524 on Thursday.
Thirty-seven more patients died and 2,292 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning.According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 2,292 new cases were detected in the country in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Thursday, raising the total number to 4,56,438.
Some 2,274 more patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, raising the total number to 3,71,453.
According to the DGHS data, the coronavirus death rate has stood at 1.43 percent. On the other hand, the recovery rate also has reached 81.38 percent, it added.
The health directorate said 16.82 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus till the date while 13.44 percent samples have been diagnosed with the fatal disease in a day. A total of 17,052 samples, out of 16,494 collected, were tested at 118 labs in the country during the period, the report added.
A total of 27,13,202 samples have been tested so far to detect coronavirus infection across the country.
The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in the country.
