Sirajul Mostafa, president of the Cox’s Bazar district Awami League, has been nominated as the religious affairs secretary of the central working committee of the ruling party.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has named Sirajul Mostafa as the religious affairs secretary of the AL’s central working committee exercising the power bestowed upon her through the party’s 21st national council session held on December 20 and 21 in 2019, said a press release.

Earlier on Tuesday evening, Faridul Haque Khan Dulal, an AL lawmaker from Jamalpur-2 constituency, has taken oath as the state minister for religious affairs.

At the same time, Cox’s Bazar district Awami League Vice-President Faridul Islam Chowdhury has been made the acting president of the district Awami League.

Besides, National Sramik League central executive council Vice-President Nur Kutub Alam has been made its acting president as the post fell vacant due to the death of its president and valiant freedom fighter Fazlul Haq Montu.
