Bangladesh National Football Team forward Saad Uddin believes that their World Cup qualifiers match against India would be act as an inspiration for Bangladesh as they face Nepal in the two-match FIFA tier-1 international friendly series, scheduled to be held at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) in the capital on November 13 and November 17 respectively.
Bangladesh played a 1-1 goal draw with hosts India in their third group E match of the joint qualifiers round two for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Salt Lake of Kolkata on October 15 last year. Forward Saad Uddin gave Bangladesh a 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute while Indian defender Adil Khan leveled the margin 1-1 in the 88th minute.“The last world cup qualifiers match against India will always be an inspiration for us. It will inspire us against Nepal in the upcoming series. We have learnt a lot from that match, these things will help us to go forward,” said Saad after the training session at BNS on Monday.
The 22-year-old forward also talked about their preparation for the upcoming Nepal matches. “We were out of practice for a long time. It will take some time to regain full fitness. We need to play some matches. However, we are all trying to do our best. Coach is also trying. Hopefully, we will reach our fitness level soon,” he added.
