Covid-19 positive cases reach 20,764 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM: The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) positive cases have reached 20764 marks as 92 new patients were diagnosed with the lethal virus, reports UNB.

Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS that among the total 20764 coronavirus infected persons, 15155 are the residents of the port city and the rest 5611 are residents of different upazilas of the district.

A total of 92 people were detected positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after testing 1,011 samples in five COVID-19 laboratories in Chattogram district.

Among the newly detected patients, 78 are from Chattogram city and 12 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said. With healing of 77 more infected patients, the total number of recovered COVID-19 patients rose to 16308. “The healed patients were discharged from different home isolations and Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospitals of the district as two consecutive real-time PCR tests were found negative,” he said.

Besides, 1,124 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals in the port city.
