Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited launched a new model of Walton laptop named ‘Prelude N41’.
NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division on Saturday visited the production plants of leading electronics and technology products manufacturer Walton.During his visit at Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited in Chandra of Gazipur, he also launched a new model of Walton laptop named ‘Prelude N41’, said a press release.
SM Rezaul Alam, Chairman of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd., was present on the occasion.
The ICT Senior Secretary enjoyed a corporate documentary on Walton. Then he visited the well decorated product display center, refrigerator, mold and die, metal casting, compressor, SMT, air conditioner, PCB, television, laptop and mobile phone, elevator production of Walton.
Deputy Managing Director of Walton Alamgir Alam Sarker, Executive Directors Liakat Ali and Yousuf Ali, Deputy Executive Director Shaninoor Sultana were among others present during the visit.
Speaking on the occasion, the ICT Senior Secretary said, ‘Walton is the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ ambassador. Walton is one of the pioneer companies in the country’s IT sector. They are manufacturing hardware as well as software. Walton has product diversity. The biggest thing is that Walton is producing the products that are needed for backward linkage of an industry. The Walton made products are also exported.’
The ICT Senior Secretary called on all to use home-made IT products. ‘The government is very sincere in developing local industries and taking necessary steps to protect local industry,’ he said.
