7 Rohingyas arrested while selling Yaba

Police arrested seven Rohingyas from Munshiganj on Saturday while selling Yaba tablets.

The law enforcers also recovered 900 Yaba tablets and Tk 90,000 in cash from their possession. The arrestees were identified as Nur Begum, 50, her daughters-Aju Begum, 35, Nur Jahan, 19, and son’s wife Zia Bol, and Sumiya Akhter, 16, Sakila, 25, and Nur Kaida, 15.

The arrested Rohingyas are the inhabitants of Leda Camp No. 24 of Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

Besides, police also arrested Yaba trader Mohammad Rashed, 30, a resident of Lauhaganj upazila of the district, from the spot.

Anisur Rahman, officer-in-charge of the sadar police station, said being informed, police arrested the seven Rohingyas and Rashed from a house in the sadar upazila.
