Jubo League leader expelled for rape

NOAKHALI: The rape accused Jubo League leader of Chatkhil upazila unit who allegedly violated a woman at gunpoint, was expelled from the party on Wednesday night.

A press release signed by the upazila unit convenor Mohammad Jahangir Ullah Patwary and joint convenor Sazzad Hossain confirmed the expulsion of rape accused Mojibur Rahman Sharif.

Meanwhile, police filed an arms case against him after recovering a pistol and bullets from his possessions.

Police on Wednesday night arrested Mojibur Rahman following a case filed by the victim under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and Pornography case.

Later, based on his confessional statement, police conducted a drive along with Mojibur Rahman at his house, office and different places and recovered pistol, bullets, two mobile phone sets, a laptop.

According to the case statement, Mojibur Rahman entered the house of the victim early Wednesday. He raped her keeping at gunpoint, locking her two children into another room. He also recorded the video of the incident and threatened the woman.

The victim filed the case on Wednesday noon.
