Call for waging social movement against drugs

CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Speakers on Wednesday laid special emphasis on waging social and cultural movement against all crimes like drugs, early marriage, rape and violence on women, reports BSS.

The speakers came up with this observation in a view exchange meeting orgniased by Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila Parishad at its auditorium where Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Nazmul Islam Sarkar was in the chair.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chapainawabganj Md Manzurul Hafiz attended the meeting as the chief guest while sadar Upazila Chairman Md Tasiqul Islam Tosi, Vice President of Chapainawabganj district unit of Awami League and former Upazila Chairman freedom fighter Md Ruhul Amin, Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj sadar thana Mozaffar Hossain and President of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila unit of AL Azizur Rahman addressed the meeting as special guests.

DC Manzurul Hafiz said, the number of early marriage in the district would be brought to zero level and if such any case is reported all must be punished. He added that this government would provide all the landless and homeless people of the country with a house.

‘We must go forward and there is no scope for back gear as the country is developing fast,’ he further said.

He also asked all the people to maintain cleanliness because it is one of main characteristics of the people of the developed countries.
