Md Mustafizur Rahman, newly appointed Bangladesh’s permanent representative to the United Nations offices in Geneva, on Tuesday presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the UN Office in Geneva.
Presenting his credentials, Rahman highlighted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led government’s significant success stories in socio-cultural arenas over the last one decade.Prior to his joining this position, Rahman was the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Singapore.
Mentioning Bangladesh government’s stance on the displaced 1.1 million Rohingyas, he also urged the United Nations to play more effective roles in resolving the crisis within the quickest possible time.
Welcoming Rahman at Geneva, Valovaya lauded Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s dynamic leadership for taking the country forward.
Rahman is a career foreign service officer from the 11th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service.
