Prime Minister’s birthday celebrated

The nation Monday celebrated the 73rd birth anniversary of Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, the elder daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

She was born in Tungipara of Gopalganj on this day in 1947.

Ruling Awami League and its associate bodies along with like-minded socio-cultural organisations observed the day by holding various programmes.

At the events, they highlighted life and achievements of Sheikh Hasina, the longest-serving prime minister of Bangladesh who is leading the nation towards prosperity following in the footsteps of Bangabandhu.

The programmes include discussions, milad and doa mahfils, special prayers and photo exhibitions which were held in different parts of the country maintaining health guidelines.

The governing Awami League held a milad and doa mahfil at party central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the presence of party central leaders.

Special prayer sessions were held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and other mosques throughout the country and also at International Buddhist Bihar, Christian Association of Bangladesh’s Baptist Church and Dhakeshwari National Temple in the capital on the occasion.
