‘PM dedicates herself to people’s welfare’

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday lauded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s dynamic leadership for working round the clock for the welfare of the people.  

“Braving all obstacles and without bowing down to any pressure, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working for the economic emancipation of the people. It is one of the great virtues of her leadership,” she said.

The Speaker made the remarks as the chief guest while addressing a virtual discussion on the life and works of Sheikh Hasina.

Sheikh Hasina University, Netrakona organised the programme, marking the 74th birthday of the PM.

Greeting the Prime Minister, the Speaker said her goal is to complete the unfinished work of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who dreamt of a hunger and poverty-free Bangladesh.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to build a hunger and poverty-free Sonar Bangla. The main goal of her politics is to materialise the dream of Bangabandhu,” she said.

The Speaker said most of her life she fought for the rights of the people.

State Minister for Social welfare Ashraf Ali Khan and noted litterateur Dr Selina Hossain, among others, also addressed the event.
