Four fined Tk 64.97 lakh for violating building code in Barishal

BARISHAL: The Barisal City Corporation (BCC) authorities have fined four owners Tk 64,97,280 for constructing multi-storey residential-cum-commercial buildings in violation of BCC plan.

According to BCC sources, Aziz Rahim of MA Jalil Road, Nabogram Road, under ward No. 15 of the city has started construction of a 14-storey residential and commercial building violating the codes of the BCC approved plan. When the matter comes to the notice of the city corporation authority, he fined Tk 25 lakh 45 thousand 712.

Rezin-ul-Kabir had started construction of a 10-storied residential building on the same road in violating the code so fined Tk. 11 lakh 83 thousand 952. Similarly, BCC fined Bidhan Majumdar of Kalish Chandra Road under ward no. 19 Tk 4 lakh 8 thousand 992 for constructing a 9-storied residential building for violating  the BCC approved plan.

Besides, Abdul Hye has started construction work of a 15-storied residential and commercial building in east side of C&B Road under ward no. 13 violating BCC plan and fined Tk. 22 lakh 80 thousand and 724.
