FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, President of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh and retired Director General (Muhtamim) of Hathazari Madrasa in Chattogram.
Besides, he also extended his deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul, said a press release.In a condolence message, Sheikh Fazle Fahim said, “He was hailed as one of the leading religious scholars in Bangladesh. Besides, he had also played a role in modernizing the Qawmi madrasa education system. May everyone in his family find the strength to endure this grave ordeal.”
Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi died in a hospital in the capital on Friday at the age of 104. He had long suffered from geriatric weakness as well as diabetes, high blood pressure, and respiratory issues. Ahmed Shafi was born at Pakhiartila village in Rangunia of Chattogram.
