Bangladesh Railway (BR) is going to start operating all its passenger trains at full capacity from today.

The Ministry of Railways took this decision following a meeting held on Tuesday in the presence of Railway Minister Mohammad Nurul Islam Sujon.

Sharif Alam, the ministry’s senior public relations officer, confirmed the matter to the press.

He said the BR will sell 50 percent tickets online and 50 percent at counters.

The BR had been operating all its passenger train services with 50 percent of the capacity by maintaining health guidelines after the government eased the movement of public transports on May 31.

Earlier, the government shut passenger trains on March 24 to contain the spread of coronavirus.
