U-19 Tigers’ Pak tour rescheduled

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials said on Saturday that they have rescheduled Bangladesh Under-19 National Cricket Team’s tour to Pakistan due to the coronavirus pandemic.

BCB officials insisted that they will play the series comprising five 50-over match and two four-day games in 2021 though the dates are yet to be finalised.

“Our Under-19 squad were expected to travel to Pakistan this October but that has been rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic,” BCB Game Development Manager AEM Kawser told The Daily Sun on Saturday.

“Pakistan are expected to tour Bangladesh next April. We will pick a suitable time to travel to Pakistan later,” he said.

Kawser added that Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has already asked for opinions from its member nations regarding the upcoming Under-19 Asia Cup.

The tournament is scheduled to be held in UAE from November.

Bangladesh Under-19 squad already started their preparation for the next ICC Under-19 World Cup.

They are also eyeing to trim their 45-member squad so that they can form a squad in order to take part in Asia Cup, if it is staged.
