A disciplined bowling effort from England saw them restrict Australia for 157 runs losing 7 wickets during their second T20 of the series at The Rose Bowl in Southampton on Sunday.

Australia captain Aaron Finch won the toss and elected to bat first.

Australia started the innings in a disastrous fashion as their ace opener David Warner was out for a duck in the first over courtesy of Jofra Archer. In the very next over, Mark Wood saw the back of Alex Carey with the scoreboard reading 3 runs for 2 wickets.

Steven Smith tried to stem the tide albeit unsuccessfully as he departed after scoring 10 runs from 7 balls. Aaron Finch posed some resistance with his 40 runs from 33 balls as he paired up first with Smith and later with Marcus Stoinis before being sent back by Chris Jordan.

Two overs later Stoinis was also sent back to the pavilion by Adil Rashid after he scored 35 runs from 26 balls.

Ashton Agar along with Glenn Maxwell (26) put up a 33-run partnership at the latter part of the innings. Agar was run out in the second last ball of the innings 23 runs.

For England, Jordan took 2 wickets for 40 runs while Archer, Mark Wood and Rashid took 1 wicket each for 32, 25 and 25 runs respectively.
