Thirty-four more people died of coronavirus while 2,766 people contracted the deadly bug in the country in the last 24 hours till Friday morning.
According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the number of coronavirus infection cases has been increasing day by day across the country, as total number of the infection cases has risen to 2,71,881 across the country including in Dhaka.Some 13,757 samples were collected and 12,856 tested at 87 labs during the period, said a press release of the DGHS.
At the same time, the number of recovery cases has also been increasing day by day in the country as the recovery rate now stands at 57.61 percent.
Some 1,752 more patients have made recovery from the Covid-19 disease in the last 24 hours raising the total number to 1,56,623.
The DGHS said 20.46 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus while 1.32 percent patients died. The current case detection rate is 21.52 percent.
The total number of death in the Covid-19 disease now stands at 3591 in Bangladesh as 34 more people died of the disease in 24 hours till yesterday morning.
Among the 34 deceased, 28 were male and six were female, while two were within 31-40 years old, four between 41-50, six within 51-60 and 22 were above 60 years old.The health directorate said so far a total of 2,71,881 coronavirus infection cases have been detected against 13,28,757 samples tested at 86 labs across the country.
The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in Bangladesh.
