49 computers stolen from BSMRSTU

GOPALGANJ: A total of 49 computers of the central library of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) were stolen during the vacation of Eid-ul-Azha.

Dr Md Nuruddin Ahmed, registrar of BSMRSTU confirmed the matter saying the stealing incident cost Tk 2,027,620 loss to the university.

“The theft incident took place during the vacation of Eid-ul-Azha, and we had noticed this after the administrative activities of the university started on Sunday,” said Nuruddin Ahmed.

The university authorities have formed a seven-member probe committee led by Md. Abdul Kuddus Miah, dean of law faculty. The committee is asked to submit their report within next seven working days.

 “We will file a case in this regard as soon as possible,” Nuruddin Ahmed further added.
