CHATTOGRAM: Newly appointed Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Administrator Khorshed Alam Sujan said no corrupt official will be spared if any irregularity is reported.

He said this while exchanging views with the CCC officials after taking over as the administrator at the corporation office on Thursday morning. Outgoing Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin also attended the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Sujan said mayors leave office after a certain period, but officials have to stay for a long time.

“That is why, I request all of you to perform your assigned duties with utmost honesty and sincerity,” he said.

“As I have been appointed as an administrator by the Prime Minister, I will not make the CCC as party office. Efforts will remain on to ensure services for the city dwellers,” said Sujan.

He also announced his ‘zero-tolerance stance’ against the corrupt people and asked them to give up the habit immediately.

“I will not take any mega project during my short tenure of 180 days, but will work for faster execution of the ongoing projects,” said Sujan, also vice-president of Chattogram City Awami League.

Regarding the long-drawn waterlogging problem, Sujan said he will look into the matter. Putting up laudable efforts by the outgoing Mayor Nasir, he said he always got cooperation from the mayor.
