Coronavirus recovery case is increasing day by day as the recovery rate has crossed 57 percent in the country till Tuesday morning.
“Some 1,955 Covid-19 patients have made recovery in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Tuesday. The recovery rate from the virus infection stands at 57.38 percent,” said Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (admin) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).She came up with the information at a regular online health bulletin from the DGHS headquarters at Mohakhali in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.
Fifty people died of coronavirus while 1,918 more people were diagnosed with the deadly bug in the last 24 hours, the official said.
Some 20.30 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus while 1.33 percent patients died. The recovery rate is 57.38 percent. The current case detection rate is 24.87 percent.
Among the deceased, 44 were male while three were within 31-40 years old, six within 41-50, 17 between 51-60, 18 between 61-70, five within 71-80 and one was between 81-90 years old, Dr Nasima also said.
So far, a total of 2,44,020 coronavirus infection cases have been detected against 12,08,256 samples tested at 84 labs across the country, including in Dhaka, she said.
The DGHS official said 8,123 samples were collected and 7,712 tested at 84 labs across the country, including in Dhaka, in the last 24 hours.The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in Bangladesh.
