Bangladesh National Cricket Team players will have a rare opportunity to take part in a virtual session by renowned South African coach Gary Kirsten which is scheduled to be held today.
Tigers have already had a few virtual meetings with coach Russell Domingo and members of the coaching staff during the pandemic but for the first time, Tigers will come across a new face in their virtual meeting.Kirsten agreed to attend the meeting at the request of his compatriot Domingo where he is likely to give inputs regarding different aspects of the game after learning about respective issues put up by the cricketers during the hour long discussion.
Bangladeshi cricketers are not completely strangers to Kirsten as he went on to have several meetings with the leading cricketers of Bangladesh after being appointed by BCB as a consultant and had overseen the selection of Steve Rhodes as head coach in 2018.
BCB Cricket Operations Chariman Akram Khan told Daily Sun about the development adding that he is looking forward to see how it helps Tigers. “Naturally he is a very experienced coach and our cricketers can learn a lot from him through interacting in the virtual meeting,” said Akram. Following a break of a couple of months, a few of the Bangladesh players had begun individual practice at BCB's facilities across the country amid the ongoing pandemic.
