Bangladesh Bank has asked all commercial banks to keep adequate cash at their Automated Teller Machines (ATM) booths and other online financial systems during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays so that customers could withdraw money and make transactions round the clock.

The central bank’s Payment Systems Department sent a directive in this regard to all the scheduled banks’ managing directors and chief executives on Wednesday.

The guidelines call for ATM services to ensure round-the-clock ATM services. If there is any technical error in the booth, it should be resolved as soon as possible. In addition to ensuring adequate money supply, the booths have been instructed to ensure other security including the vigilant position of full-time guards.

All banks providing Mobile Financial Services (MFS) and their subsidiaries need to ensure uninterrupted transactions. In this case, the customer has to be informed about the transaction information of any amount through SMS alert service.

Banks will have to take necessary steps to ensure security at all the systems during the Eid vacation. Clients should be informed about any transactions through SMS alert service.
