New Delhi: Bangladesh is a role model in the world for showcasing good neighbourly relations, said Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Anurag Srivastav.
He was addressing a weekly media briefing at the South Block in New Delhi on Thursday.“India and Bangladesh are mutually concerned about the sensitivity of each other’s concerns and on that basis, bilateral relations are being built,” he said.
Terming a Bangladeshi media report questioning the quality of 10 locomotives provided by India, he said the Indian railways supplied the engines from their inventory to suit Bangladeshi conditions as requested by Dhaka.
He also named the newspaper (not Daily Sun) which earlier published a news item suggesting that Indian High Commissioner Riva Ganguly Das was denied appointment by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina despite several requests.
The MEA spokesperson said the particular newspaper has certain mischievous intentions.
