RANGPUR: A total of 3,969 coronavirus (Covid-19) infected patients healed at the recovery rate of 66.82 percent till Wednesday morning in all eight districts of Rangpur division, reports BSS.
Health officials said the recovery rate continues increasing following improved treatments being provided to the Covid-19 patients despite a rising trend in the daily infections in recent weeks in Rangpur division.“The number of recovered Covid-19 patients stands at 3,969 with the healing of 94 more infected people on Tuesday in the division,” Focal Person of Covid-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui told the agency on Wednesday.
The 3,969 recovered Covid-19 patients include 1,246 of Rangpur, 159 of Panchagarh, 576 of Nilphamari, 224 of Lalmonirhat, 239 of Kurigram, 240 of Thakurgaon, 945 of Dinajpur and 330 of Gaibandha districts.
Meanwhile, 137 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Tuesday raising their total number to 5,938 in Rangpur division.
The district-wise break up of the total 5,938 patients currently stands at 1,654 in Rangpur, 298 in Panchagarh, 644 in Nilphamari, 369 in Lalmonirhat, 454 in Kurigram, 356 in Thakurgaon, 1,533 in Dinajpur and 630 Gaibandha of the division.
A total of 39,251 collected samples of Rangpur division were tested till Tuesday night, and of them, 5,938 were found Covid-19 positive with an infection rate of over 15.12 percent in the division.
