DNCC’s anti-mosquito drive ends

On the last day of its ten-day anti-mosquito drive, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has destroyed aedes larvae at 48 places in the capital.

On Tuesday, DNCC-run mobile courts have filed some 17 cases against the owners of the establishments where mosquito breeding grounds were found and fined around Tk 1.45 lakhs. During the drives favourable environment for mosquito breeding was found at 6,794 places.

The city corporation had started the ten-day combing drive with a view to protecting the city dwellers from mosquito borne diseases, especially from dengue, on July 4.
