ACC seeks info from Mugdha hospital, hotel 71

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday sought information and records from the authorities of Mugda Medical College & Hospital and Hotel 71 regarding their alleged involvement in irregularities in connection with arranging foods and accommodation for doctors and staff.

ACC Deputy Assistant Director Mohammad Shajahan Miraz sent two separate letters to the hospital and hotel seeking the information, said ACC director Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.

The letters stated: “There are allegations of embezzling public money through irregularities and corruption against acting director and acting principal of the Mugda hospital and some others.”   

ACC sought attested photocopy of the agreement signed between Mugda hospital and Hotel 71 regarding the price of food and accommodation of the hospital’s doctors, nurses and other staffs who were engaged on duty for serving COVID-19 patients.

It also sought copy of the bills which was paid to the authorities of the hotel 71 for food and accommodation for the hospital’s doctors and staffs.
