Youth held with 4,520 Yaba pills

CHATTOGRAM: Police arrested a youth with 4,520 pieces of Yaba tablets from the port city on Wednesday.

The arrestee was identified as Anwar Hossain, 30, son of Abdur Rahman hailing from village Rajakhali in Pekua under the Cox’s Bazar district. Sources said on information, police conducted a drive near the Old Railway Station in the city. 

Later, they arrested Anwar from the area and recovered 4,520 pieces of Yaba tablets from his possession. A case was filed accusing him in this connection, they said.

Earlier on Tuesday, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a youth with 20,000 pieces of Yaba pill from the port city. The arrestee was identified as Md Nurul Afser, 27, son of Md Bahadur Alam hailing from Faishyakhali in Chakoria upazila under the Cox’s Bazar district.
