Bangladeshi youths have shown innovations in developing new business model at a month-long boot camp on digital platform to take on ‘new normal’ of economy.
The month-long event styled: ‘#StartKoro’ ended in the city on Saturday. Facebook Developer Circle Dhaka and Preneur Lab Trust jointly organised it in association with UNDP Youth CoLab.New normal refers to a change in society, particularly in relation to business and economy that have braced for a new reality following the global Covid-19 pandemic.
Three winning start-ups are - Mainly Coding, Malamal.xyz and Lagvelki have received ads credits from Facebook DevC worth of 1500 US dollars, organizer said in a statement on Sunday
Mainly Coding is an AI-powered personalised learning experience dedicated towards programming. Malamal.xyz is a B2B online portal for industrial products and business supplies for Bangladesh. Lagvelki is an online cinema viewing platform.
Over 874 registered participants took part in the boot camp connecting over 30 thousands of unique viewers,
Boot camp is designed in a way that the participants have gone through a full cycle of learning, idea sharing, developing and launching a digital product or a startup.
#StartKoro allowed participants to learn from the best of the best local and international mentors, attend workshops, build product, and launch their startup.Startup Bangladesh Advisor Tina Jabeen, EMK Center Director Asif Uddin Ahmed, UNDP Communications Head Abdul Quayyum, Facebook Startups Programme Manager Sidra Riaz, among others, were present at the closing ceremony.
