Two photojournalists came under attacked at Mugda General Hospital in the capital on Friday when they tried to take photos of assault of a patient by the on-duty Ansar members.

They damaged the cameras of Joyita Roy of Bangladesh Pratidin, and Rubel Rashid of Daily Desh Raupantor.   Rubel said some forty persons got tickets to test Covid-19 in the hospital for today.

But, after the test of 34 persons, the Ansar members told them virus test for today was completed, Rubel said adding that a man who was also waiting in the queue for the test had an altercation with them.

"At one stage, the Ansar men slapped him. When Bangladesh Protidin photojournalist Joyita Roy tried to take a snap, they also came forward and assaulted her.

“When I proceed to take a photo of the incident, the Ansar men hit me and broke my camera’s filter. They also hurled abuse words to journalists and threatened to tie up,” Rubel added.
