Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is going to launch a new five-member Technical Department with the aim of developing football in Bangladesh.
The new technical department, headed by Technical Director Paul Thomas Smalley, will focus on the country's women football, grassroots football, coaches training and elite youth development. FIFA and AFC will provide assistance to the department.The 53-year-old English Paul had been working with BFF for more than three years from August 2016 to October 2019. BFF Technical Committee recommended his name to BFF Executive Committee in its last meeting on June 21
BFF President Kazi Salahuddin told the media, “We are pleased and excited to have Paul back. He is experienced. He had a good time with us during his last tenure. He will help Jamie Day develop the national team.”
The other five members of the department are: former national footballer Mostafa Anowar Parvez, former national youth footballer Mahboob Alam Paulo, Head of Women Football Suinu Pro Marma and BFF Competitions, International Teams and Technical Department official Hasan Mahmud.
Parvez will be the Head of Elite Youth Development, Paulo will work as the Head of Coaches Training, and Hasan will discharge duties as the Manager of Grassroots Football.
BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag said, “The new technical department, assisted by FIFA and AFC, will focus on the structural development of the country's football.”
