Jaya Ahsan’s  ‘Bhoot Pori’ by Soukarya Ghosal , ‘Ardhangini’ by Kaushik Ganguly  and ‘Jhora Palok’ by Sayantan Mukherjee are waiting to release in theatres while shooting of ‘Peyarar Shubash’ by Nurul Alam Atik and ‘Beauty Circus’ by Mahmud Didar has almost been completed.   

Today is the birthday of National Film Award winning actress Jaya Ahsan. Her fans, friends, and well-wishers have sent birthday greetings to the artiste.  

Celebrities and her co-artistes also take to the social media and shower love on Jaya Ahsan with birthday wishes.

Talking about her birthday, Jaya Ahsan said, “I always celebrate my every birthday with various    programmes. But, I have no special plan to celebrate this year’s birthday due to coronavirus outbreak. I will spend the day with my family members. Please keep us in your prayers.”          

Jaya Ahsan is a celebrated actress, model and producer of the country. She works in Bangladeshi and Indian Bengali films. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress four times for her performance in the films Guerrilla (2011), Chorabali (2012), Zero Degree (2015) and Debi (2018).

Jaya Ahsan started her career as a model in the late 1990s, and since then she worked in numerous television dramas and serials. She established her reputation as an actress with roles as Monika in Labonyo Probha, Pushpo in Tauquir Ahmed and Bipasha Hayat’s teleplay Shonkhobash, and in Hatkura.

On the big screen, she made a special appearance in the film Bachelor (2004) directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki.

In 2013, Ahsan acted in an Indian Bangla film titled Aborto, directed by Arindam Sil. She was nominated for the Filmfare Awards East for Best Debut Performance Female for her role in the film. She also received an official invitation to attend the prestigious 66th Cannes Film Festival.

In 2019, her first release was Kaushik Ganguly’s Bijoya, sequel to Bishorjan for which she won the Tele Cine Awards for Best Actress and Best Jodi alongside her co-star Abir Chatterjee. Then she was seen in Arnab Paul’s debut Brishty Tomakey Dilam, a psychological thriller based on split personality disorder.
