Bourses go down

Country’s both the bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – finished trading on Wednesday extending their losing streak for the third consecutive session amid ongoing coronavirus crisis.

At DSE, the broad index, DSEX closed at 3963.40 points on Wednesday with a loss of 6.17 points or 0.15 percent.

Besides, the two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went down by 1.99 points and 1.20 points to settle at 1328.50 points and 918.99 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 13,138 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 22.43 million securities. Market turnover, another crucial indicator, stood at Taka 1.52 billion which is bit lower than of previous day’s Taka 1.55 billion.

Loser took a lead over gainers as out of 312 issues traded, 16 securities gained price while 43 declined and 252 remained unchanged.
