S Alam Group provides ventilators, cannula for corona patients

CHATTOGRAM: To facilitate treatment of the corona patients, S Alam group has provided six ventilators and eight high-flow nasal cannulas to three hospitals in the city.

Four ventilators and similar number of cannulas were handed over to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital on Tuesday.

A pair of ventilator and cannula was provided to the Chattogram Maa Shishu O General Hospital and another pair of cannula to the Chattogram General Hospital on the same day.

Sources said each of the ventilators of an American brand costs Tk 27 lakh while each of the nasal cannula of a brand from New Zealand Tk 15 lakh.

These were handed over by the Personal Secretary Akiz Uddin of the S Alam Group Chairman Saiful Alam Masud following a call from the Bangladesh Medical Association, Chattogram General Secretary Dr Faisal Iqbal Chowdhury.

Earlier, the industrial group also provided highly needed PPEs along with other necessary items for the physicians of CMCH and other upazilas in the district.

Besides, ventilators have also been provided to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Mugda Medical College and Hospital by the business conglomerate.

Mentionable, S Alam Group Director Morshedul Alam, elder brother of Saiful Alam Masud, died in corona at the Chattogram General Hospital on May 23.
