CMP to prepare plasma donors’ database soon

CHATTOGRAM: Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has taken initiative to develop a database of possible donor of plasma to help recovery of the corona patients.

Data of the cops and city residents who were infected and recovered from the disease will be preserved and the CMP will coordinate donation of the plasma for the patients.

Sources said process for developing the database has already been started.

Directives were also given to all police stations to prepare database of corona patients who recovered from the disease.

A monitoring committee headed by CMP Additional Commissioner (Admin and Finance) Amena Begum was also formed.

Other members of the committee are Deputy Commissioner (DC-Headquarters) Amir Jafar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Mohammad Moinul Islam and physicians of the Divisional Police Hospital.

Contacted, Additional Commissioner Amena Begum told the daily sun that the database will be developed with the information of the corona patients who recovered recently.

“Police will coordinate between the patient and the donor for the plasma therapy,” said the police officer.

The therapy is not required for all the patients and it will have to be provided as per instruction from the concerned physicians, she said.

A policeman who recovered from the disease has already donated plasma for a corona affected physician in the city, added the additional commissioner.
