CWAB to support needy cricketers, staff

The Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) has stepped forward to support country’s needy former and current cricketers, coaches and other staff including organisers, scorers, umpires, ground men from a different level, are all financially insolvents and have been struggling to earn daily bread amid lockdown countrywide in the wake of pandemic coronavirus outbreak.

The association will initially distribute foods among 390 families on Saturday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur under the banner titled ‘CWAB’s efforts amid corona crisis’. They will also give Tk 17 lakh as cash assistance through their respective bkash, bank accounts, and other convenient financial services.

CWAB president and former captain of Bangladesh National Cricket team Naimur Rahman Durjoy MP, Vice-president and another former captain Khaled Mahmud Shujon and other members will be present of the occasion.
