Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Tuesday started anti-mosquito drives and fined a number of owners of establishments, as breeding grounds for mosquitoes were discovered there.
DNCC Zone-1 executive officer and executive magistrate Julkar Nayon conducted a drive in Uttara 7 and Sonargaon Janoptah area under Ward No. 1 and Kurtali area under Ward No. 17 and inspected 20 establishments.During the drive, four house owners were warned, as aedes mosquito larvae were found inside their residences.
Besides, DNCC Zone-2 executive officer and executive magistrate Shofiqul Azam, DNCC Zone-3 executive magistrate Shariful Islam, DNCC Zone-5 executive officer and executive magistrate Md Masud Hossain, DNCC Zone-6 executive officer and executive magistrate Sajia Afrin, DNCC Zone-7 and 8 executive officer and executive magistrate Abed Ali conducted drives in their respective areas and fined a number of owners of houses and businesses.
DNCC chief revenue officer and executive magistrate Abdul Hamid Mia conducted a drive in Ward No. 10, 37 and 43 and conducted an awareness campaign.
DNCC executive magistrate Roslina Parvin conducted a drive in Gulshan-1 and Gulshan-2 area and fined owners of two under-construction buildings Tk 7000, as mosquito breeding grounds were found there.
