Bangladesh’s World Cup winning Under-19 National Cricket Team squad decided to raise funds to help the coronavirus affected people, said BCB official on Wednesday.
BCB’s Game Development Manager AEM Kawsar is coordinating the fundraising effort put up by the squad members which includes cricketers and officials who were involved with the ICC Under-19 World Cup winning camp.“We are trying to raise a fund for the coronavirus affected people,” Kawsar, who was also the manager of the Under-19 squad, told daily sun on Wednesday.
“We are trying to contribute as per our ability. We hope to raise two and half lakh taka and hope to hand it over to CWAB (Cricketer’s Welfare Association of Bangladesh) as they are coordinating the donation program on our (cricketers) behalf,” he said.
Bangladesh National Cricket Team players raised a fund contributing fifty percent of their month’s salary while CWAB also initiated a similar move to help the distressed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Though Akbar and others are not salaried players as they just crossed the boundaries of age-level cricket thus their effort is truly praise worthy.
