DNCRP fines 9 businesses

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP), in separate drives, fined nine businesses Tk 8,500 for breaching consumer law across the country, said a press release on Tuesday.

During the drives, the directorate fined the businesses on various allegations including food adulteration, price hiking, and not mentioning maximum retail price on wrappers. 

In Dhaka, deputy directors of DNCRP headquarters Masum Arefin and Bikash Chandra Das and assistant directors Rojobi Nahar Rojoni, Rozina Sultana, Tahmina Begum, Magfur Rahman and Jannatul Ferdous conducted the drives in Malibag, Modhubag, Shahajahanpur, Rampura, Modho Badda, Bhatara, Gudarghat, Gulshan-2, Kawranbazar, Shantinagar, Segunbagicha,  Ananda Bazar, Molvibazr, Palashi and Hatirphool areas.
