S Alam Group provides 2,000 PPE for docs

CHATTOGRAM: The country’s leading business conglomerate ‘S Alam Group’ provided 2,000 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) for the physicians in the port city on Friday.

The group officials handed over the PPEs to Chattogram district Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Elius Hossain at Chattogram Circuit House.

Addressing during receiving the PPEs, the DC Elius Hossain said the PPE is the most important thing for Bangladesh in this time of the coronavirus pandemic while many discussions, write ups and news also surfaced centring it.

PPEs from the China have already reached the country while business groups including ‘S Alam’ also came forward to assist the medical staff in this connection, he said.

“The PPEs will help the doctors in providing medication and they will not be afraid of treating the patients now,” he hoped.

“We will also provide the PPEs to private hospitals beside the government ones to ensure treatment for the corona patients,” added the DC.  The Group Chairman’s Personal Secretary Akij Uddin said ‘S Alam Group’ stands beside people of the country not only during disaster, but also in any need.

“Chairman Saiful Alam Masud is a dedicated person for the people of Chattogram and contributed to the society in different ways including providing jobs to the talented and poor youths and carrying out other social welfare activities,” he said.

The chairman also stood beside the doctors in this crisis moment and 5,000 more PPEs will be provided gradually, said Akij.
